Ethically navigating the cosmetics sector as an indie brand, featuring Sam Farmer

This week we spoke with Sam Farmer. In an industry led by pseudoscience marketing noise, Sam is someone I’ve long admired for going against the grain with his brand to stand up for reason in the cosmetics space. For example, his brand is one of very few indie brands who uses parabens as part of their preservative systems - given the consumer confusion here, other small brands typically will avoid the controversial ingredient because they feel it’s brand suicide and not worth the risk. Sam, on the other hand, is vocal about their inclusion because - science. He’s active as a public speaker speaking out against misinformation. This conversation aired live on our discord and featured Sam’s perspective on what it means to ethically navigate the cosmetics industry as a father, an indie beauty brand and as a consumer. Enjoy!
