ESGs are one of those topics that, IMO, everyone should understand. And what they do and do not mean. For better or worse, ESG ratings will, and already are, have a profound impact on how business is done, on emerging regulations, and in the world of corporate investment. There's a lot to unpack. For this week's episode, I was joined by Gracee Shorter, who is a sustainability solutions provider at Ecovadis to help break it down. Throughout the convo, please excuse my pessimism. Regardless of current limitations, the benchmarking that ESG ratings can provide, pending standardized methods are used and data provided is actually comparable between firms, is hugely important as we strive towards sustainable development.
