Launching your Cosmetic Brand Regulations, Quality, Claims, and Safety
October 21st 9:00am - 4:00pm, 10 Carden Guelph
Join Kyley Paul from NaturalSci Regulatory Consultation and Jen Novakovich from The Eco Well for this full day masterclass on launching a cosmetic brand. Topics covered in this session will include cosmetic registration through Health Canada, compliant labelling and claims, cosmetics regulated as cosmetics, natural health products or drugs, cosmetic product testing, manufacturing versus working with a contract manufacturer, GMP and more.
Here’s the timeline of our day:
- 9:00 - 10:20 am: An overview of the classification of natural health products vs cosmetics, registration of each, a description of the regulatory framework in Canada and what you need to know to best position your product line.
- 10:35 - 12:00 pm: What claims can go on your labels, what is required on your labels based on your product classification, where each thing goes and for what market.
- Noon - 1:00 pm: Lunch
- 1:00 - 2:20 pm: Testing cosmetic products to ensure stability, efficacy and safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Manufacturing vs. working with a contract manufacturer
- 2:35 - 4:00 pm: Working with suppliers, determining the quality of your raw materials, transparent marketing.
We'll have tea and coffee on hand throughout the day and located in a great spot to grab lunch in one of the nearby cafes. We've limited the tickets to 17 to ensure an intimate class with lots of time for all of your questions. Be sure to register earlier rather than later if you'd like to join in!
Kyley Paul: Kyley has always been passionate about nutrition, fitness and helping others achieve greater health. She graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology then graduated with Distinction from the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs Program at TIPT. She worked as the Regulatory Affairs Coordinator at Jamieson Laboratories for 3 years before starting NaturalSci Regulatory Consulting. Jen Novakovich: Jen is a cosmetic chemist and director at The Eco Well. She holds two bachelors of science degrees from the University of Guelph, in Zoology as well as Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences, with an emphasis in cosmeceuticals. She completed her graduate studies in Cosmetic Chemistry. Jen’s business is focused on sustainable cosmetic and cosmetic science education, where she does seminars internationally and hosts a science podcast, interviewing industry leaders and scientists about all things cosmetics.
